Overview
The Cornerstone Association of REALTORS® (CAOR) is a prominent not-for-profit organization established on July 1, 2024, representing nearly 8,000 members across key Southern Ontario regions, including Mississauga, Burlington, Hamilton, and Waterloo. It is the second-largest REALTOR® association in Ontario, formed through the consolidation of several founding associations with over 325 years of collective service. Recent market data indicates a mixed but evolving real estate landscape within its territories. For instance, the Hamilton-Burlington area recorded 886 home sales in July 2025, a 5.5% year-over-year increase, marking the first rise since late 2024. Despite this, year-to-date sales remained 16% below the previous year, with a benchmark price of $763,700, reflecting a 9% decline. Similarly, Mississauga experienced a significant 14.4% sales increase in July, though overall inventory levels reached a 15-year high, contributing to a composite benchmark price decrease of 9.5% to $979,700. These trends highlight a market characterized by heightened inventory, moderated prices, and cautious optimism as buyers gain more leverage. CAOR continues to support its members by providing comprehensive market insights and advocacy, fostering adaptability in a dynamic environment.
