Central Alberta REALTORS® Association (CARA)

Overview

The Central Alberta REALTORS® Association (CARA) represents over 550 REALTORS® across Central Alberta, including key communities such as Red Deer, Lacombe, Ponoka, Sylvan Lake, Camrose, Rocky Mountain House, and Sundre. As a not-for-profit cooperative, CARA provides members with access to the MLS® System, facilitating property transactions while advocating for ethical standards, housing affordability, and professional development in the region.

CARA supports a diverse market spanning residential, commercial, and recreational properties, reflecting Central Alberta’s mix of urban centers and rural landscapes. The association emphasizes collaboration with municipal and provincial stakeholders to modernize zoning policies, streamline development approvals, and promote sustainable growth. Notably, CARA is a founding shareholder of Pillar 9™, Alberta’s unified property database, enhancing province-wide data accessibility for REALTORS® and consumers.

Member-focused initiatives include safety partnerships (e.g., real-time emergency support via my-eforce), professional training, and adherence to Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) ethics standards. CARA also prioritizes community engagement, encouraging REALTORS® to support local charities and address regional needs like food security.
