Overview
The Association of Interior REALTORS® (AIR) is a unified professional body representing approximately 2,500 REALTORS® across British Columbia’s interior, spanning regions from Revelstoke to the U.S. border, and including the Okanagan Valley, Kamloops, Kootenay, and South Peace River areas. Formed in 2021 through the amalgamation of four regional real estate boards, AIR strengthens its members’ collective voice, enhances industry professionalism, and advocates for housing affordability and ethical practices.
AIR supports a diverse real estate landscape, balancing urban centers like Kelowna and Kamloops with rural and recreational markets. The association emphasizes sustainable development, modernized zoning, and infrastructure improvements to address housing supply challenges. It also promotes data-driven tools like the MLS® Home Price Index (HPI) to provide accurate market insights.
Members benefit from robust professional development programs, including mandatory training courses and adherence to strict ethical standards set by the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA). AIR fosters community engagement through initiatives like food drives and partnerships with local charities, underscoring its commitment to social responsibility.
Guided by values of collaboration, innovation, and transparency, AIR advocates for policies that balance economic growth with environmental stewardship, such as energy-efficient construction and adaptive reuse of underutilized spaces. By integrating technology and regional collaboration—exemplified by its participation in the Ontario Regional Technology & Information Systems (ORTIS)—AIR enhances market transparency and member resources.
Through leadership under CEO Mohamed Ladak and President Kaytee Sharun, AIR remains a pivotal force in shaping a resilient, inclusive real estate ecosystem in British Columbia’s interior.
